As you may be aware from recent media reports a £180,000 carriageway resurfacing scheme on Finaghy Road North is due to commence on Sunday 7 May 2017.
This resurfacing project will cover the stretch of the road from the bridge at Appleton Park to Andersonstown Road will be carried out on three consecutive Sundays between 7.00 am and 8.00 pm with an anticipated completion date of Sunday 21 May 2017.
Unfortunately, the project will require the road to be closed during these times and diversions will need to be put in place. I have received assurances from those involved in this project that local access for residents will at all times be in place and that disruption is kept to a minimum.
I have also impressed upon those involved in the project the need to ensure a speedy completion of the project and while issues such as the weather are unpredictable, all reasonable efforts must be made to meet the projects timeframe and avoid unnecessary disruption.
During the length of the project there will be a risk of additional congestion and delays, and it may be necessary to allow additional time when planning any journey.
If you have any comments on this or any other issues I would as ever be delighted to hear from you.
